Back in Israel

It is great to be back in Israel!! The smells, the sights, the language, and of course my parents! It is still "Winter" here... Hehe! It is cool in the mornings and beautifully warm in the afternoon. Don't think I'll be swimming this trip though. As for Mom she remains strong and resilient. She has pain 24-7 and has several medicines to manage it. She was approved for medical marijuana which has been an absolute blessing. It allowed her to lower the doses of other pain meds and be more alert! Mom has a meeting with the oncologist Tuesday and will receive cat/pet results. In the meantime we had a lovely breakfast on the beach and I found a few good shells to add to my collection! Today Mom and I will venture to the mall for a few hours to have lunch and buy gifts.
Please pray as this trial creates a new relationship dynamic in our family. We are all trying to deal with our own emotions and support one another. I'd say we're coming along. God is good!!
Off to get my Israeli passport... A long story which I will share another time!!

  1. Blessings to you and your parents Dafna. I know that God is guiding your steps and you walk your current path. I have several Crohn's friends who were approved for medical marijuana for pain and it has been a blessing to them also. I continue to pray for your mom and for your witness. Lots of love of prayers from 17 degree F Ohio.

  2. Dafna, thanks for the update. Please tell your mom that I received her sweet note. I continue to send more hugs and prayers. Know that the Lord is Blessing you with throughout this difficult time. He provides Grace to help you negotiate and strengthen relationships. His love for EACH OF YOU is boundless.

Anxious to learn more about why you needed an Isreali passport. BTW, Fernando Ortego is coming but we will both be out of town. Selah, well, you miss that too. Some things are just not meant to be!

  3. So, do you roll and smoke a joint?!!!
Praying for you and your family-so glad you are connecting on a new level.
SAnnual meeting booklet from the other day announced that Pastor Hobbes is organizing a tour to Israel in February 2012. Just the sound of the word thrills, excites and scares me. So happy you are able to be there with your mom and dad. Praying for you all. Thanks for correcting the address!

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.” – Psalms 46:1-3
